Herbert George Wells (1866-1946) was an English writer. Though a prolific writer in many genres, he is primarily noted for his science-fiction writing. His most famous works include, The Island of Dr Moreau (1896), The Time Machine (1895), The Invisible Man (1897)and The War of the Worlds (1898).
